LaFou Els Amelers 2021: A white wine aged in barrels from the Terra Alta Designation of Origin
Made in the LaFou Celler winery, LaFou Els Amelers 2021 is a barrel-aged white wine that pays tribute to the almond trees that grow next to the vines in the Tarragona region. The variety used is Garnacha Blanca , which is the one found at the center of the Terra Alta designation of origin.
Elaboration process
The production of this wine includes fermentation and aging for 6 months on lees in concrete eggs and in stainless steel tanks . In addition, 10% of the wine is aged in 300-liter oak barrels . The harvest is carried out manually on the Mas Gabrielet estate, where vines are planted on natural terraces located in the "fous" (gorges) formed by the ancient flow of a river, currently underground. These vines have an average age of 40 years and are between 320 and 370 meters above sea level.
