A spectacular wine from Bodegas Marta Maté: Viñas del Lago from the DO Ribera del Duero.

The privileged location of the Bodegas Marta Maté vineyards in Tubilla del Lago, with views of the Gromejón River at an altitude of 900 meters and the influence of the Sierra de Cervera, make the wine produced unique. Viñas del Lago from the DO Ribera del Duero is a red wine made mainly with Tempranillo, with a limited production of only 13,500 bottles and 300 magnums in its 2019 vintage.

The wine has a violet color and an aroma of red fruits with hints of violets and white flowers, along with spicy notes and a mineral background. In the mouth it is vibrant due to its acidity and freshness, with a good structure and fruit flavors. The hawthorns used are between 77 and 104 years old and grow in well-drained soils composed of clay, sand and limestone.

The harvest is carried out by manually selecting the grapes and takes place early in the season. Careful maceration for 8 days helps preserve and enhance the original characteristics of the grapes. Aging lasts 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by assembly and final refining in foudres. Bottling is done with a very low sulfite content. In summary, Viñas del Lago is a wine with a unique combination of location, grape variety and production process that make it an exceptional choice for wine lovers.
