Abadal: the winery where the vineyards coexist with the forest in Bages

Viticulture is an art and passion passed down from generation to generation in many families. In Bages, it is rare to find vineyards that coexist with the forest, but that is precisely what makes the Abadal vineyards unique and special.

With 107 hectares of vineyards, of which 50 are owned and 57 controlled directly by Abadal, the winery has created high quality wines. The wooded terrain and the contrasting microclimate provide intensity to the grapes and that is reflected in the quality of the wines.

Infrastructure and Facilities in the Winery

The winery has 30 stainless steel tanks, of which 22 have a capacity that varies between 6,000 and 25,000 liters, while the other 8 are specific for the vinification of red wines. After this, the wines are aged in French, American and Central European oak barrels. The barrel room has an area of 1,680 m2 and houses a total of 1,102 barrels, each with a capacity of 225 liters. Of the total barrels, 70% are French oak, 24% American and 6% Central European.
