Description:

La Mateo vintage. With grapes coming from a plot named " El Salobral", this wine is a true delight for the senses. The plot has a north-south orientation and calcareous clay soils, which gives the wine a unique flavour. La Mateo Vendimia is the result of a careful selection of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano varieties, which are harvested by hand in the winery's most iconic plot.

Malolactic fermentation takes place in new 225-litre barrels and then the wine is aged for 14 months in new 225-litre barrels of French Allier, Nevers, Tronçaise and Jupilles oak (85%) and American oak from Pennsylvania (15%).

In the glass, this wine has a bright ruby red colour with a high intensity and little evolution. Intense aromas of cassis and ripe fruit (strawberry, blackberry and plums) can be perceived, together with spices and sweet notes of toasted wood. Baalanced, tasty mouth, persistent, with a broad, creamy and balsamic finish. This wine is made from 70% Tempranillo, 27% Garnacha and 3% Graciano, from 50 year old vines.
